Fireplaces & Flues from Branson Holdings
Flue-pipes
Our 135mm flues are made from seamless 0.45mm grade 304 stainless steel and our 150mm flues are made from seamless 0.5mm grade 304 stainless steel. “Seamless” refers to the clean, smooth join.
We can offer a standard insulated flue kit and an external flue kit, alternatively you can make up your own configuration from the parts list below.
Insulated Flue Kits
Designed for a single story, standard ceiling height installation where the flue exits through the lower part of a pitched roof as in the example picture. Single pipes are used from the fireplace to below ceiling level. These single pipes get extremely hot and enhance the efficiency of the fireplace by radiating extra heat into the room. Insulated pipes are used as a safety measure in all roof and ceiling spaces.
This kit can be modified by adding or subtracting pipe lengths for different ceiling/roof heights.
External flue kits
Designed to be used where the flue cannot go directly through the roof. The pipe goes up from the fireplace and then through the wall below ceiling level. The vertical section inside the room greatly improves efficiency by radiating extra heat. The external T-Piece catches condensation and has a removable base cover for cleaning. Although more costly, we recommend using insulated pipes on the outside wall instead of single pipes. This is done by fitting a male adaptor above the T-Piece, substituting insulated pipes for the external single pipes and using larger brackets.
Fireplaces
Prices vary according to size and style – please contact us on info@bransonholdings.co.za for a price list.
Our closed combustion fireplaces are purchased both locally in South Africa and imported from overseas in Europe and Asia.
We stock both cast iron and mild steel wood-burning fireplaces to suit everyone’s individual needs. You are welcome to contact us for information and pricing or you can view the ranges at Euro Fireplaces showroom in Somerset West.
The ranges include The Shire, The Verso and Classic ranges and Heatwave ranges.
Thermal Fans
A thermal fan can improve air circulation, distribute heat and reduce fuel consumption.
Maximum Airflow: 100 CFM
Dimensions: 130mm x 120mm x 230mm (w x d x h)
The thermal fan is designed to stand on the top flat surface of a fireplace and circulate warm air throughout the room. It needs no external power, cords or batteries and creates its own electricity using the heat of the fireplace. The fan automatically adjusts speed with the temperature of the fireplace. It runs faster as the fire heats up, and automatically slows down and stops as the fire burns down and cools.
Designed to be used on the top of freestanding closed combustion fireplaces with a surface temperature between 110°c and 345° (230°F and 650°F). This is not a huge rush of air but a subtle airflow.
Glass, Door & Glass rope seal
We supply heat resistant Schott Robax glass for replacing closed combustion fireplace glass windows which can withstand temperatures of up to 760 degrees celsius with almost no thermal expansion. Whether it is cracked, chipped, damaged, or no longer clear and needs replacing, we can cut to size.
We can quote you for a replacement glass. Please provide us with the dimensions (height x width and square meters where possible) as well as indicate the style or type of fireplace the glass panel is for.
We can also supply door rope seal and glass rope seal for maintenance needs.
Roof Boots
Silicone roof boots with aluminium bands/bases
Prices vary according to size-please contact us for a price list
A roof boot is a rubber gasket with a bonded aluminium band that can be shaped to the contours of the roof. It forms a watertight seal where the flue pipe goes through the roof and is a fast, easy and cost effective method of waterproofing. The flexibility and heat resistance allows for a high level of expansion, contraction and pipe movement. All our roof boots are made from “SILICONE”. Silicone resists UV rays and withstands much higher flue temperatures (up to 240°c) than the alternative, cheaper “EPDM” rubber boots (ethylene propylene diene monomer). The silicone boot includes markings for accurate and easy cutting to accommodate different pipe sizes.
